Kingston Smiles Dentistry is a new face on Wentworth Avenue in Kingston after Dr. Michelle Yip and Dr. Sophie Haydon took over the practice in December 2020.

This event also made it unique as a business owned and run by women in this industry.

For Dr Yip and Dr Haydon, who first met while studying dentistry at Charles Sturt University in Orange NSW over a decade ago, starting their own practice has been a dream come true. reality.

“As students we were talking about one day starting our own practice, and we are delighted that we were able to achieve this in such a fantastic location,” they said.

In addition to sharing a new business, Dr Yip and Dr Haydon, who each live in the area, juggle the demands of running a busy dental practice with young children.

While this means that they have little downtime between shifts and home, Dr. Yip and Dr. Haydon believe family life and parenting add value to their professional practice.

“As a very busy working mom, I understand that it can be difficult for people to fit everything in, and having regular dental checkups is something that often gives way,” said Dr Yip.

“This is why Sophie and I are so committed to making the patient experience in our practice as efficient and smooth as possible.”

Dr Haydon agrees. “Dentistry has changed in recent years and visiting the dentist is not the same experience as it was before. We aim to provide compassionate care that is tailored to each patient. We also understand that people buy, so we aim to reduce the times. waiting and invasive procedures, ”said Dr. Haydon.

Recently, Kingston Smiles welcomed Dr. Alexander Buckley to his practice to join Michelle and Sophie in bringing a wealth of knowledge, skill and compassion to your dental experience.

Dr Buckley, who grew up in Young, NSW, was also a friend of Dr Yip and Dr Haydon during their time in school.

“I have known Michelle and Sophie for many years and am delighted to join their practice. Together, we are an energetic team that emphasizes the patient in our work, as well as the benefits of advanced technology, ”Dr. Buckley mentioned.

The new practice includes two new state-of-the-art dental chairs and a 3D scanning machine to provide fast and comfortable treatments.

“The use of new technologies allows us to involve you in your dental treatment and improve your understanding of your needs,” they said.

Kingston Smiles is located at 1B / 61 Giles Street, corner of Wentworth and Giles, Kingston and is open Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 6 pm. The practice is currently accepting new patients. For appointments, call (02) 6295 9333.
