Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi on Friday called for educating people about oral hygiene, as preventative measures and timely advice could facilitate the treatment of more than 90% of oral diseases.
The president expressed these views during a briefing on the dental wellness complex and mobile dental clinic, in Aiwan-e-Sadr here.
President of Pakistan Dental Association Welfare Complex (PDAWC), Gujranwala, Dr Hassan Bashir Basra, Vice President of Operations, Clear Path Orthodontics, Amir Khalid, Lady Vice President of Pakistan Dental Association (PDA), Gujranwala, Dr Ayesha Imran, PDA Vice President, Gujranwala, Dr Rizwan Asghar and other PDA Gujranwala members attended the meeting.
PDAWC President Gujranwala Dr Hassan Bashir Basra briefed the meeting on the complex and mobile dental clinic established in Gujranwala.
He was told that the mobile clinic would be equipped with the latest medical equipment and provide cost-effective dental and oral health services to the poor and disadvantaged sections of society.
He was told that mobile dental units would also help solve dental problems and provide preventive treatment to patients living in remote areas of the country.
The President appreciated PDA, Gujranwala for their philanthropic spirit and highlighted the need for local manufacturing of dentistry related equipment in Pakistan to provide cost effective solutions to the people. Earlier, the president also inaugurated the dental wellness complex and mobile dental clinic that would provide care to deserving patients in Gujranwala.
