Dr. Michael Hinze
I grew up in the small town of Aspermont, Texas in Stonewall County (about 60 miles north of Abilene). My parents were farmer/ranchers and my dad worked in the oil fields. My early years were filled with adventure, exploring the great outdoors, and going with my dad on excursions into the country. My dad raised cattle on a small scale and we always had horses to ride and care for. As with most people who attend small schools, I was involved with lots of school-time and extra-curricular activities. I was very active in 4-H and F.F.A. My dad had worked at one time as a veterinary assistant and knew quite a lot about doctoring animals. He doctored all his own livestock and at an early age I became interested in medicine. I loved animals, but I loved working with people much more. By the time I was in the second grade, I was telling people that I wanted to be a dentist. I had thought about pursuing a career as a physician, but having seen livestock die from time to time, I did not want to deal with life and death situations in my career.
I attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock from 1972 to 1975, where I majored in Biology. I attended the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio from 1975 to 1979, and graduated with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. My wife and I set up our dental practice in Hale Center in 1979, and I have practiced there ever since. I love the small town atmosphere and the friendly people of the west Texas area. I still enjoy visiting my "old stomping grounds" around Aspermont, but the South Plains of Texas are now very much home to me.
I've made two very important decisions in my life that I am very proud of. The first was to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of 11. I grew up attending First Baptist Church of Aspermont and had a pretty good head knowledge of who Jesus is. I first found the heart knowledge of Him after realizing that He died for my evil doings and rose again to give me eternal life. Since that first experience of acknowledging him as Lord and Savior, I have failed Him on many occasions, but He has never failed me. He has seen me through many crisis situations and remains the Rock to which my anchor holds.
My second greatest decision was to ask Pamela Irene Thomas of Shallowater, Texas to be my bride in 1976. She has been and continues to be my best friend, my life partner, and my greatest encourager. She worked and helped put me through dental school, and she is my greatest earthly treasure. She gave me two beautiful daughters, Michelle in 1980, and Kristin in 1982. Both our girls have grown up, are married, and are pursuing careers of their own. Pam and I have three wonderful grandchildren that are now the joys of our lives.
I often feel that I am the most blessed person on earth. I have a wonderful family, a great church family at First Baptist Church Hale Center, and a very blessed dental practice. I love and appreciate each of my staff members very much. I have been blessed with great workers in the past, and in the present. Leslie is a great assistant who cares deeply about all our patients and friends. I trained her myself, and she took all the necessary training and examinations to be a certified dental assistant. She works closely with me to insure our patients are comfortable and properly cared for. Regenia is my Registered Dental Hygienist. She has over 20 years experience in caring for hygiene patients and does a great job for everyone she sees. I sometimes think she is friends with everyone in the county. It seems everyone knows and loves her. Natasha is my receptionist, front desk secretary, and insurance clerk. She is also a Certified Dental Assistant having received her training at Texas Careers in Lubbock. She does a great job of taking care of our patients in the front office as well as timely filing of insurance claims. These three wonderful ladies are truly an asset to my office and I feel I have a great staff in place.
If you are an existing patient, we appreciate your patronage through the years, and your many referrals of family and friends to our office. There is no greater compliment than your referral of friends and loved ones to our practice. We look forward to serving you, your friends, and family for many years to come. If you haven't visited our office yet, we invite you to give us a call to arrange a first visit appointment at (806) 839-2484.
Regenia Boedeker, RDH
I was born and raised in Plainview. I graduated from Plainview High School in 1986. I attended Amarillo College and graduated with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1989. I began my career that same year with Dr. Kenneth Stone. I continued working for Dr.'s Kenneth and Gary Stone for thirteen years. After their retirements, I travelled to Lubbock to work for Dr.'s McCuistion, Lindsey, and Axe. I also worked for Dr. James in Plainview.
In the summer of 2008 I received a phone call from Dr. Hinze. I was at a cheer camp in Waxahachie, Texas with about 500 cheerleaders, and I couldn't even hear him! I asked him to call me back when I got home. That phone call was the answer to my prayers! Commuting was killing me! I wanted to be closer to my kids and with a doctor that truly cared about his staff and patients. In July of 2008 I accepted the job with Dr. Hinze.
I feel so very blessed to be working for such a wonderful dentist. Dr. Hinze is a great Christian man, boss, and dedicated doctor. It is the greatest job ever. Our staff is like family. I found a career home again and that is an amazing feeling.
I am the very proud mom of two kids, Paxstyn 15 and Sissy 13. Paxstyn is a freshman at P.H.S. Sissy is an eighth grader here at Carr Middle School. They both are very active kids. Paxstyn loves baseball and football, and Sissy loves cheer, dance, and tumbling.
I am a co-owner of Rebel Cheer and Dance in Plainview. I coach competitive cheer, dance, and tumbling. I also work with kids in fitness training. These jobs keep my evenings and week-ends busy.
I am blessed beyond belief with my life! I have two careers that I love, and two beautiful, healthy kids to go home to every day!
Leslie Rodriguez, CDA
I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, and my family moved to Hale Center when I was in the 6th grade. I received my GED in 2002 after attending night classes here in Hale Center with Mrs. Ahrens.
In 1998 I met the man that is now my husband, Carlos Rodriguez. He has worked at Azteca Milling for 10 years. We have three wonderful children: Anthony 14, Alicia 11, and Jimmy (J.J.) 9. All of our children attend Hale Center schools.
In 2004 my husband had a bad toothache, and I took him to Dr. Hinze's office here in Hale Center. While my husband was getting his tooth taken care of, I told Dr. Hinze that I wanted to go to school for dental assisting. He visited with me at length, and told me he was going to be needing an assistant soon. He asked me to fill out an application with his office, because he was willing to do on the job training. I applied for the job and a week later Dr. Hinze called me for an interview. A week later, he called and said that I had the job. I can say that my husband's toothache was my lucky charm. I have a great job with an amazing boss and two co-workers that are wonderful people. We make a great team.
I studied hard and took all the required training, and exams required by the State of Texas to become a Certified Dental Assistant. I have worked for Dr. Hinze for 8 years. I couldn't be happier that the Lord blessed me in such a wonderful way!
Shonda Ross, Receptionist
I was born in Plainview and grew up in Nebraska. I graduated from there in 1986 and moved back to Plainview. My husband and I transferred to Iowa in 1995, and we moved back to Plainview in 1998. We have two children, one 18 attending Lubbock Christian University, and one 15 at home.
My family and I have been patients with Dr. Hinze for the past eight years, and we love the caring service we receive here. I was excited to hear of an opening for employment with his office, and I started to work here as dental receptionist in August of 2014. I enjoy every aspect of my job, especially meeting and getting to know long time patients and new people who come here for their dental care. I feel our staff works well as a team, and we always strive to provide the best dental care available for our patients.
